Love At First Sight...

The first time was with Jack back in 1976 and the second time was seven years later when she sunk her toes into the fine white sand of Siesta Beach. Nicki and her husband Jack had been visiting her parents in Englewood, when they decided to take a short drive to Sarasota. Hand in hand, they walked the beach and marveled at the warm red glow of the setting sun. They were smitten.


Starting A New Life

Soon-to-be empty nesters, Nicki and Jack figured they’d better start looking toward their future in Sarasota. It was never a matter of “if”, but always a matter of “when”. Just a few short weeks after they returned home, Nicki’s father sent her a clipping from the Herald Tribune for a building supply business that was for sale. Turns out, they bought that business, even though they knew it needed a lot of work to make it profitable. Jack’s business skills and Nicki’s marketing and sales expertise along with their combined passion, energy and desire to succeed, made their company flourish.


A Different Lifestyle

It didn’t take Nicki and Jack long to embrace their new lifestyle. They are both driven professionals who believe in working hard, but also believe that life is meant to be lived and enjoyed to its fullest. They soon built a home on a canal on Siesta Key, and bought a boat. Their most enjoyable memories are of those nights after work when they’d drive their boat to a local restaurant to enjoy dinner--and the weekend boat trips with their friends discovering the various small keys around the area.


A New Venture...Sort Of

After ten years, they sold the building supply business to a local lumber company. Their decision to enter into the Real Estate business was grounded. Nicki’s parents were both Realtors and Jack had been a Realtor in New Hampshire before they met. Because they had built five homes in the Sarasota area, had worked with local builders through their previous business and had both lived in several homes in their lifetimes, they felt they had the hands on knowledge to help folks with their real estate needs and to walk them through the process. Nicki has taken on the role of sales and marketing, while Jack manages the business and acts as a consultant to clients as well as to Nicki
